Peaches protected by biodegrable fruit bags are successfully harvested

Last September 13th, EEAD-CSIC harvested peaches that were produced with biodegradable fruit protection bags. As a first impression, they highlighted the bag's resilience during the last 2 months on field. The biggest barrier so far has been that they are slightly more difficult to release than paper bags, but no further problems have been detected. Once the post-harvest quality results and biodegradability monitoring from PCTAD and ARCHA respectively are complete, there will be more complete information on the results regarding the functionality of the biodegradable plastic.
